Well...the time crunch is on and our year end blog series for 2015 is winding down, guess they saved the best for last! :-) I wanted to highlight the ability for your employees to print and view their OWN W-2's! We first released this feature in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 and we talked about it is Isaac's BLOG . With the new Self-Service functionality, this was something YOU told us you wanted to see added to the product. What is nice about this functionality is it will keep track of what employees have printed the W-2, then when you are ready, you can print the rest of the W-2 for the employees that did not print, or if you want, you can print them all as well. We give you the best of both worlds. All of this pulls from our existing year end tables, so another nice features is you own your data and control it. When you upgrade to GP 2015 R2, you can choose what years you want visible to your employees to print W-2's from. This means all prior years of W-2 information will appear automatically if you want to have your employee be able to print and see that information and there is no additional charge for the years that are visible, this is the difference than running this as a service. What we added/changed in the 2015 year-end update is the capability for you to determine what years and when the employee will see their W-2. In the Print W-2 window, there is an option Publish to Employee Self Service . Once you have finalized all your W-2 information and are ready for the information to go public to the employees, you just mark this box and save out of the window. If this box is not marked, and it defaults not marked when the year end wage file is created, employees cannot see this information. This gives you the time to verify all year end records prior to an employee seeing and printing their W-2 information. With this method there is no upload that needs to be done to a 3rd party, just mark the box and voila, the employees can print and view their W-2's! This information is stored in the UPR10100 table. 0=Not Marked, employees cannot print/view their W-2. 1=Marked, employee can print/view their W-2. select W2Published , * from UPR10100 Enjoy this new feature and the changes we added to the year end update. Go back and review your prior year end data and determine whether you want it to be available as well or not, up to you the user! Have a great year-end and keep the product suggestions coming, yes we do listen to them. Thanks Terry Heley, Microsoft
