Forum Post: RE: GP Performance issues after Windows updates

Again, not perfect relationship to question or comment, but . . . We have a client IT team that does the same tasks you describe and early last spring there was in update that caused all access to Business Portal and GP running on Terminal Server to fail totally. We were only ever able to run GP on Terminal Server. Business Portal failed to operate correctly until we removed a couple of different 'recently installed' service packs for the Windows Server updates just installed. Since that time, the IT department is required to run the Updates in UAT first - prove that they dont cause issues with GP, BP or anything else. At that time, they are then able to get sign off to continue the update on the Production Servers. Since that time, we have not had any issues with updates. Know this is not perfect help, however, it is confirmation that some updates do cause issues. What I might suggest is to document all the Service Packs that are being planned to be installed and prior to running install, check with you or your Microsoft Dynamics partner. Hope this helps. Good luck and post more to share and learn more.
