If the connection is not fast, the latency to the SQL server will be too great (remember the VPN also add overhead - encryption). Losing connectivity to a remote workstation while it is posting is not at all bad (posting still happens). Losing connectivity to SQL during posting will corrupt your database. This configuration you're planning is never recommended. Tim
