Anthony, what you have defined is a typical security situation with the web client that we have encountered many times. The solution as you have already found - that works for us - is to ensure that the users are members of a group that has Admin Level rights to the Web Client - files / folders - as GP Web Client uses Window Auth to see who you are, it does not matter that you are an admin in GP - you might have all the access in GP, but nothing getting you to run the web client software to make the connection to the server. We typically, add all our accounting users in a group, assign permission to shares and such to that group. But then with Web Client, we make sure that that User Group as a whole is a member of the Web Client group. This way all permissions from the Web Client group flow to the users when they try to access over the web. Hope this helps. Might not be the 'the solution' but it works for use.
