When you launch the setup program there is an option to create a package file. This will create an install package that will create the connection for you. If you are new to GP I would suggest you read through the installation guide to familiarize yourself with the process. You will have the server install and then the client install not to mention installing SQL on your server. You have a lot to learn and your GP partner would be a good place to start.
