Are you changing your Windows to 64-bit or your Office Product to 64-bit? I have all Windows 64-bit machines running Office 32-bit from Outlook 2010 to Outlook 2016. I migrated from on premise Exchange to Office 365 Exchange and MAPI as the setting has always worked for me. I use PDF attachments only.
