Forum Post: Differences in Historical Aged Trial Balance

0
0
We run the AR Historical Aged Trial Balance for 5/31/2016 on 5/31/2016. Then we close May so nothing is posted or applied. Then we run the Aging process on June 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd . Then we run the aging for 5/31/2016 of June 4 , 2016. Would you expect the reports to match? Is the Historical Aged Trial Balance a snapshot in time or does it change when running the aging? We have a $12 difference from May 31st to June 4th. I have the reports but we have thousands of customers so I can't identify which customer has the difference.

I have several Excel books which contain 7000 serial numbers to be received on one POP. Is there a way to import these serial numbers directly from the Excel book? Copy / paste keystrokes will have us crippled!

Hi Mello, Restarting you SQL instance won't make a difference.. but you could effectively try to shrink your GP database by steps, not taking all the free space back in one shot, as this might leave your SQL server busy for quite some time.. Here is technical guideline on how to do it : www.mssqltips.com/.../incrementally-shrinking-a-large-sql-server-data-file-using-powershell

Forum Post: RE: Using RD Web on 2012 server to publish GP getting dexterity runtime access error

Hi Jonathan, How did you get the shortcut setup like that? I too have only been able to get the dexterity runtime window, where I can then Launch the .set file. It sounds like you folks are able to click the icon from the RD Web Access\Work Resources page and are then prompted to login to GP. When I publish the app i tried to setup the shortcut as you have above, however it only allows me to choose the dynamics.exe and I cannot add anything after that. Thanks.

Forum Post: Launching GP 2013 in Remote Desktop Services

Greetings, I've published GP in Remote Desktop Services, when I launch it from the browser I receive a Dexterity Runtime window (No Error) with a File menu in the top left. From that menu I can choose Open Launch File and then Open the Dynamics.set file which will bring up the login window. I'm hoping for the users sake to be able to get it setup so that when they click on the GP icon it will launch the login window immediately. I've granted 'Everyone' r/w access to the GP folder to ensure that permissions are not the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Flynn

MS Dynamics 365 for Sales vs Salesforce Sign up for a free Dynamics 365 for Sales course! Learn more about Dynamics 365 for Sales features According to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, there are 1.1 million small companies (1-99 employees) in the country. However, 60% of small businesses fail within the first five years, so there's a big concern for entrepreneurs on how to stay competitive. Here are three ways you can stay ahead of your competitors if you run a small business. Be passionate Use CRM Partner with other small businesses Usually, small business owners started their business because of passion. Passion drives motivation, which makes small business owners the busiest people in the world. They don't finish their work when it's 5 o clock and rarely think about vacation. This drive and passion are factors that make them successful. Convert your passion into hard work, and you’ll be one step ahead of the pack. You may think that Excel is the perfect place to store your clients' data. It may be true if you have only 20 of them. Once you reach 50 customers, it will be challenging to track them. You'll need a tool, which will help you generate reports and identify insights. Try Dynamics 365 for Sales for free to see if it fits your business’ needs. We bet you won't go back to Excel after it! If you’ve ever wanted to make your business more reputable and competitive, there’s one more thing that can help you with it: collaboration. Working collaboratively with small businesses allows for you to share your experience and knowledge as well as create new products or services that will bring additional value to your customers. Find a local small business that shares the same values as you do, and come up with a creative project, that you can implement together. Your customers will love it. Have you ever tried to create a go to another smartlist and the smartlist which you ar ending up is showing a different document that you were expecting? I'm using the smartlist field as the field to filter so it should change depending on which record I'm selecting right? it'S as if the Go to uses the first one on the list instead of the one I'm selecting.

Blog Post: Can’t get SSRS reports to deploy? Try this…

Multi-instance SSRS Report Deployment by Rob Wagner, Implementation Specialists Can't get SSRS reports to deploy?  Try this... PROBLEM: In this scenario we'll use GP2015 (see below for adaptions with other versions). You’ve gone through the typical SSRS setup steps and also verified that all the necessary permissions have been granted for the current user to deploy SSRS reports. Domain User is granted Content Manager permissions at the root of the report site and is also is a member of the rpt_power user group in SQL. When you press the button depicted below, nothing happens. No error message appears. No reports are deployed. Reports should be deployed to the report server URL selected. SOLUTION: The solution is to install Dexterity Shared Components 14.0 (for use with GP2015). Because the report definitions are stored in SQL as Binary Large Objects, the ManagedStorage dll (part of Dexterity Shared Components) is needed to extract these definitions during deployment. The version of shared components must be one that matches the GP version (reference below) . NOTE: The version of Dynamics GP will dictate which version of the Dexterity Shared Components to use. GP2013 – Dexterity Shared Components 12.0 GP2015 – Dexterity Shared Components 14.0 GP2016 – Dexterity Shared Components 16.0 After installation, you must exit Dynamics GP and then come back into the window then press Deploy Reports. Blog Post: "404.0 - Not Found" error when printing to Printer from GP 2016 Web Client

There is currently a known issue where users receive a "404.0 - Not Found" error when printing to Printer from the Dynamics GP 2016 Web Client: The above will actually print, rather than the intended report, etc. The known workaround at this time is to use a web browser other than Internet Explorer. This issue is caused by the following Windows Updates: KB4022726 Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 KB4022725 Windows 10 KB4022719 Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 Per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4022726/windows-8-update-kb4022726 "Known issues in this update When you print a specific iframe or frame in a web page, the print output may be blank, or text is printed that resembles the following: 404 – Not Found (A frame is a part of a web page or browser window that displays content independent of its container. A frame can load content independently.) This problem has also been observed in both Internet Explorer 11, and in applications that host the IE Web Browser Control. There is currently no workaround for this issue. However, if you print the entire web page, it will print correctly. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available. " I will also update this blog post as soon as more information is available.
